Gary and I got out at about 9am on Wed. after he got off work. We scoped out some areas with electronics before deciding to fish an area that had been holding fish a few weeks ago. We threw jigging spoons all day long and the fishing was fast and furious off and on. I think that the bait was moving through the area and when we threw near them we got lots of bites and when they moved things slowed down. We had 2 nice 2.5-3lb LMs off an off shore point, a few slicks and about 50 yellow bass before moving to an offshore ditch. There we caught a few yellow bass, another 2.5 lb bass and had a 4-5lb bass follow a hooked yellow bass to the boat and then engulf it and snap the line when Gary set the hook, bummer, but still exciting. We moved up the lake and caught a couple more 2.5-3lb LMs on a cut near the main river channel, with a few more yellows. Things slowed there and we went back down to where we started and found that the fish were thick there but not on the flat or point but were in the creek channel. We had a couple more in the 3lb range there along with 50 or 60 more yellow bass with a couple of small drum and blue cats mixed in. <br /><br />Thursday I was to fish with cast4bass but he cancelled on me late the night before. I couldn't find anyone to go with me so I did some work at home. I couldn't stand it anymore so I went fishing at about 1:30pm. I started where we had caught most of our fish the day before but it was only off and on for about an hour. Finally I moved off the end of the point and the fish were thick from top to bottom about 30-40 feet off the end of the point in 25 feet of water. I fished vertically for an hour and a half catching fish with every drop. A few LMs, drum and small bluecats were mixed in with the yellow bass. At one point I decided to see how many I could catch in 5 minutes and I caught 9 yellow bass and one 2lb bass in 5 minutes and 3 seconds. I'd never been around so many active fish! I'm looking forward to taking a couple of guys Sunday and Monday afternoon.<br /><br />I have a couple of pics from Wed. and hopefully I'll get them posted later.
