I had to work this morning, so i drug the boat with me and afterwords decided to hit the riverpark. Put in about 2 pm, and it started raining and i got soaked. The sky looked clearer south so i headed toward town to get out of the rain, lesson learned: i need rain gear...

got back under blued sky and started throwing a crank and spinner bait, didn't have any luck on the crank, but got one about 12.5 in on the spinner. kept throwing that and back-lashed my reel. while i was trying to get that sorted out the lure got hung on something as i was drifting and i lost my bait.

after that i was hot and wanted to cool off a lil so i ran on downtown. this was my first trip to the riverpark so it was just as much a sight seeing trip as fishing. started throwing a c-rig in chartreuse and not long after that hooked up with a 15incher. had a couple other bites but no takers. i was under the vets bridge so i was hearing the cars go overhead and appearantlly i was hearing thunder as well, because when i looked up all i was was black death to the west. and then about that time i big ol'e bolt of lightning came down and i decided it was time to get the heck outa dodge!

now my boat will only run about 30 mph and is flat bottom, and im a new boater, i got in behind a gaggle of jet skis headed up river to the ramp, needless to say my pucker factor was high it was a pretty rough ride. but just i wanted out of the water and i couldn't get their fast enough!

i don't have high expectations like some of you guys. i judge a fishing trip by a couple factors,

did i catch anything? yes i got 2
did i lose any lures? yes i lost 1
did i break anything on my boat? not that i know of.

so i say it was a good quick trip and im doing it again on sunday
