Bent Rod gave me another lesson on how to catch walleyes this AM at Tims Ford. Rick caught 4 'eyes' (2 throwbacks just under 16&quot
and 2 keepers 21.5 inches and about 20.5 inches. He added two beautiful smallmouth bass, 4.0 and 3.5. I got in a lot of casting practice with my new rod/reel loaded with braided line. I could feel everything except the fish. I don't think that I had a legitimate bite all day. Actually, I had a couple of bites and didn't get a good hookset into the toothy critters.
Tims Ford is a beautiful clear deep lake and lots of boats that like to run between you and the bank. We had that happen to us more than once today. 600 yards of lake to go around us, and they have to run between us and the bank that we were fishing. We caught our fish on blade baits. After going fishless for the better part of the day, we got to comparing blade baits and I found that Rick was using a 1/2 oz bait, and I was using a 3/4 oz bait. Maybe that's why I didn't get bit while the fish were active. After the sun got up really high, neither one of us got any more fish.
I'm going again one day and get after these fish until I catch another one. emoBig
