I had a late breakfast, read the paper, worked the crossword puzzle, and then decided to go fishing. I put the boat in the water around 11:00, parked the truck, pushed the boat off, and discovered that my motor would not trim back down. emoBang So, put the boat back on the trailer, made a quick trip down to Glenn Gamble's and about 10 minutes later with a new relay in place, it was back to the ramp.

12:05 was the time back on the water, so I idled around for a little bit while I decided what I wanted to fish for. Thought about crappie fishing first, then some bass fishing later, so I started up river. When I got to the junction of Wolftever creek and the river, with no one in that area, I chose to bass fish first. So I idled around crisscrossing the channel and looking for bait and fish. It took me a few minutes to find any concentrations and threw out a marker. I fished there until 2:00 pm. I caught 4 yellow bass, 3 largemouth bass, and 3 drum. It was getting awfully hot, so I thought about running up the river to cool off and find some shady docks and crappie fish for a while. I caught 7 crappie. After yesterday's catch, this one was a bummer. The entire time that I was crappie fishing, I was thinking about leaving all those bass.

So, back down the river I came, wind whistling through my head (no hair) and when I got back down there, lo and behold, there was Labman out there with a marker buoy about 100 yards from where I had caught all my fish. He was on the schoolers again. So I joined him around his marker and we both caught some more fish. I caught a catfish and 2 more yellow bass and missed about 3 or 4 strikes. We were fishing a flat that was a shell bed and very near the channel. Fish were stacked again and tons of baitfish. About 5:00 I told Norman bye and headed for the house. He said that he was going to stay with them until about dark. Look for a great report from him. My 3 bass weighed just under 9.0 pounds by a couple of ounces. I caught them on gold spoons 2/3 oz. emoBig
