Miami/Haulover Fishing Report
#1
Today I ran my client's boat while he entertained a business customer who wanted to get in a day's fishing while he is in Miami. Jeff from Surinam was the main angler. Cloudy skies and a NW wind greeted us for most of the morning. The water was clean green and the current was moving south. Fishing started off quite slow, however, persistence finally paid off with a 12# kingfish caught on a 10# spinning outfit. By this time, we found a light north current. Next it was a cero mackerel, then a red grouper that we released, and finally two more kingfish of 6 and 8#'s. All of our action took place in 88 - 119 feet using live pilchards. Fishing was generally slow and I heard of a few sailfish and dolphin being caught. The forecast calls for the wind to pick up from the NE. If we can get some north current, fishing action could get red hot.

Captain Dave Kostyo
Knot Nancy Fishing Charters
www.rnfl.com/knotnancy
nkostyo@bellsouth.net
