Woke up and heard thunder about 5:45 so decided to go back to sleep. Finally got on the lake about 10:30. Fishing was slow today, tried some weeds first with spinner bait but no takers. Marked quite a few fish on channel edges and flats, but only caught 2 smalls. Stumbled on a crappie school on a creek edge and caught 5 before I lost the school. Appeared to be following bait schools.

Rode around prospecting a bit and couldn't find any bass that wanted to play. Just not feeding right then. Finally about 2:00 I headed back up river and checked a flat/channel edge just off the main channel. Tons of bait and several large cluster of fish stacked up. Finally got them going a little bit with 5 good keeper LM and 1 14" smallie, and a couple of drum. Largest bass just short of 4#. Took quite awhile to find some active fish. I think the thunder, lightning in the early morning shut things down a bit. All bass caught on drop shot gulp minnow. Crappie on BG Shad in blue thunder. All fish returned to the lake.

Site won't post pics again, will try later

Regards, Labman
