drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 9/28/10, Polo
#1
I got about a 1 hour head start on Polo and Frieda and caught 2 crappie and 1 spotted bass before picking them up at HBSP at 9:45 AM. We fished all up and down the river under tough conditions. Cool weather, sunny and just enough wind to be aggravating, but we stuck it out as both of us wanted to take home a limit of crappie. We were successful in doing just that.

We fished until 4:00 when I dropped Mark and Freida off. Mark took a limit of crappie and so I counted how many were left and discovered that I only had 13, so I hit one more dock and caught 3 keepers and culled one to get my limit of fish. Most fish were caught on bobby garland ghost color with chartreuse tail light and the crystal shad panfish assassin with a tail light worked good too. We had doubles on a few times.

I caught 3 catfish, 1 bluegill, 1 yellow bass and 3 little spotted bass to go along with our catch. I think that Mark caught one or two bass and one bluegill and he might have caught 1 catfish. I had a big fish pull drag and wrap around a post on a dock and break off. Probably a catfish, but no slime on the line. Nearly all of our fish were deep. We used 1/32 oz jigheads.

I really enjoyed our day together, Mark and Freida. Let's do this again soon. We saw wbwilly, Bay man, Railman, and Bassert today. Looked like a CFF reunion. emoBigSmile emoGeezer Oh, and lest I forget, thanks for the pizza for lunch. We ordered a pizza from Domino's and had it delivered to the dock at HBSP. Dockside cafe was closed until 4:00 and Papa John's wasn't opened either. But the Dominos was very good. emoHungry
