Well, thought I'd post a report since its a requirment for the tx trail...Me and Scott had plans to fish all day, but I ended up having to leave early to attend my grandmothers funeral. The morning started rocky, as at the last minute we realized I left all my tackle in the truck-HAHAHA! Anyway, we didnt go far at first and decided to try our luck on top around the grass. We boated our first two keepers on a spook, both came on the pause. We also had a few dinks that got brave. as the sun came up we moved to another grassy area and we put keeper number 3 in the boat on a swim bait as well as a few more shorts. That bite slowed and we moved out to the main river. We tossed a number of baits from jigs and spoons to swim baits with only a few more dinks. Scott lost a solid keeper at the boat just before it was time for me to go. We returned to the grass for the last 30 minutes of my day with no luck. I got dropped off at 1:00. Scott finished out the day and boated 1 more 3.5lber. we had 4 keepers for the day and I dont know why he didnt weigh-in, but I dont care, I was glad to to spend the morning on the lake with a friend. I appreciate all of the effort the tx commitee put into the trail this year, I had fun and look forward to fishing against you guys next year as the schedule allows. Congrats Jim and Whiskers on the big win.
