Louie B, Carters Lake Oct Big Spots/Striper, Spots/Striper, 10.20.10
#1
Fishing has been improving this week. I was off the water from Thur-Sun for honey-do reasons (3yr old birthday party), I heard the bite was extremely tough over the weekend. Surface temps this week have been ranging from 68-73 and visibility is fantastic on the main lake but some of the creeks, Woodring and Johnson "Beach" Creek are turning pretty bad.

Patterns this week have been rather diverse. I've caught spots from the surface to 45ft deep, fish are all over the water column right now. Swimbaits, Fish Head Spins, Jerkbaits, Sb's, Cranks, Jig Heads/Grubs, and Drop Shots have all caught fish, nothing is working great so just throw everything you got. The best numbers bait for me has been the drop shot. In a good school you can load the boat but fishing is slow until you find em. Typical Fall Spotted Bass on Carters.

I was out today with Zack Manning of Chatsworth from 7am-1230pm. Zack and I had a great day boating some healthy spotted bass including a kicker 4.5lbr. Zack also caught his first striper on a High Powered Herring. The salty put on a show engulfing the swimbait on top :^) Zack also wanted to learn about sight fishing today so we ran a couple of schools and caught some nice spots out deep as well. We had a good half day and no spots under 2lbs either which is always a plus. Enjoyed it Zack and thanks again.

If anyone is interested in getting out to work on your sight fishing skillz or try your hand at the meanest bass in freshwater drop me a line.

LB
