Finally home
#1
We finally got home last night at 11PM. We had a good time, but our trip was WAY too long. Also, Spain and France are seeing temps that are the highest they've seen in almost 100 years!

When we got home we were greeted with the nice surprise of finding out that a water pipe had burst in our apartment while we were gone. They figure that it was going full force for almost a day before someone found out. Because we weren't home, they couldn't get into our apartment. We're the building managers and the owners were out of town too. The police had to break into our place. Everything is a total mess.

I need to get out fishing.

I am very sorry to hear about the return to the home. What a horrible thing. I hope all recovers well and yes, fishing is a great remedy for the homestead blues. Again, I am very sorry to hear abot the apartment.

Bummer !! I can relate . My house caught on fire about 10 years ago and I felt so displaced for about 4 months . I needed to get away and go fish just to forget about it . Hope everything work out for you .

Welcome back, sorry to hear of the mess that awaited you upon your return. I have gone through a water break in our house, and it is definitely not any fun. I can only imagine that it is much worse not being there to address the situation when it first happens.

I know exactly what you're going through.[mad]&[unsure]!!!! In June, My wife and I had a hose come loose from our dishwasher. Since it was before the valve it just continued to run for about 8hrs. Pretty much flooded the entire basement. We just got everything settled with the insurance (thankfully) and pray it never happens again. I'm awful sorry to hear about your mis-fortune and you are absolutely right about the whole fishing-therapy concept. It helped me.

I am guilty of this, but isn’t it funny how bad we can think our life is and then we hear a story like this. I just got back from vacation and was a little miffed about the flights being delayed and lost luggage. But when I got home everything was fine. Like my friend keeps telling me, why do we always look up the hill at the people who seam to be better off than us when there are so many more who have much bigger problems than we do. I hope everything works out for you and it was a great lesson for me. Even though I am sorry about your home, I have learned to never say “could it get any worse?” because it always can.
