Jim and I got out there today for a few hours. Weather was nasty and figured the spots would be biting well.
They were biting, but we had to fish for them differently from what I was expecting.
I was expecting to fish with jigs and shakeyheads up in the trees off the banks like you would normally do in November. The fish were still deep and kind of scattered, so once again it was hard to find them but they were biting.
Caught just about all of our 16 or 17 fish on the dropshot in water between 20-50FT today. We managed 7 or 8 keepers with the two biggest running 17.75" and 18.25". Good couple fish there.
Weather was nasty, didn't really rain... but there was ALOT of hail, it was terrible LOL. We decided to leave by 6PM as there was no sign of the storm letting up, got to the ramp shut the motor off and let Jim onto the dock. Went back to crank the motor... whhaaaarrrrrr, I hate that noise emoBang
Lots of corrosion on the cranking battery so I hope thats the case emoRedface Going to clean off the battery tomorrow, if it doesnt crank after that it may be the starter going bad... lord I hope not.
Anyways water temps were 62.5-64F. Water clear on lower end, stained a bit in the middle part, and probably muddy on the upper end.
Seth and I are suppose to head out there Sunday we'll see, gonna have to get this motor running! BTW, the HOF bream I was talking about I caught it the on Tuesday when Colby and I fished for a few hours. Caught it in 35FT of water on the dropshot emoCrazy it went a hair over 11". Haha Parksville has some big gills in it!
