Labman, Chickamauga, Bass/Crappie, 11/9/2010, Mike Lane

Met Mike at his house on the lake about 10:00 and we headed out to chase some bass. First cove we worked was loaded with shad as are almost all of them and we managed 4 fish there. Headed upriver and tried another slough, same story, lots of bait an bass busting them occasionally. Had to be in the right spot to reach the feeding fish with a cast. Best baits for us today were spooks, and traps. Didn't get a hit on spinnerbait. <br /><br />We explored around a little and found feeding fish in every cove we visted. Sometimes hard to get them to hit though. All were very fat and full of shad so just occasional reaction strike as they sure dont need the food. Made a short stop to work on Mike's open water crappie skills. We managed 6 nice keepers and then moved on to look for some more bass. We quit at 3:00 with I think 8 bass, mostly caught by mike. I did my usual admirable job of "net man" without missing a single one.<br /><br />Beautiful day to be on the water and caught some fish with a good friend, so all is good.<br /><br />Regards, Labman
