Alvin and I decided to take advantage of the warm temps and got out this evening for 3 hours. All I can say is the wind blew, a lot. We started out on a bank we had not fished this year, got a big fat zero. Moved to the bank we have been fishing for the past month and the wind made it unfishable. Did get one small blue cat and a bluegill but that was it.
Headed downtown to get out of the wind (you can always get out of a north or south wind downtown). Ended up catching 3 spots, a largemouth (that pooped all over me), 2 more large bluegill a green sunfish (have not seen many of these this year), 3 more blue cats, and 3 channels. I got my best cat of the year at 19 lbs on a pig n jig. Awsome fight. In the last 30 minutes we boated 5 of our 7 cats and Alvin got a 13 lb blue for our last fish of the evening all on pig n jig.
Water temp was 60 degrees and other than the wind the weather was perfect. Going back in the morning, gotta get all we can before the weather goes south.
