Started off trying the grass. One thing I have been trying to learn is to fish an area thoughly. Stayed in one spot and I mean SPOT for about 1 hr. Missed several pops on topwater. Dont want to call them blowups cause it wasen't blowups just little pops at my frog. Left that patch of grass and went to another not 200yds from the first one. Picked it the same way as the first one. Had one fish blow up 3 times then finally took it. Brought it in and it was a 2lb 5oz keeper. Fished that area for a while longer. Ran up past the nuke but couldn't shake the grass bug so went back down river to another cove that had schooling baitfish in it. Had several more "pops" on the frog but didn't have an takers. Bass started schooling just out of reach, but I had a silver buddy tied on and literally threw ALL the line off my spool. As soon as the buddy hit I started ripping it and a nice 3lb 10oz LM came to the boat. Caught a couple white and short bass in the schools using the buddy. Didn't see any reason to weigh in but I would have had about 5 lb 15oz. It was great to see such a big turnout. As always had a great time and cant waith till the next one. emoThumbsup
