Oregon Fishing Report
#1
The Guide's Forecast - volume 3 issue number 27
Northwest Oregon's most complete and accurate fishing forecast

Forecasting for the fishing week of November 23rd - November 29th, 2001

Fisheries update: Sturgeon fishing remains great for gorge boat anglers and some bank anglers as well. More shakers than keepers are available in the middle river.

Crabbing on the lower Columbia is excellent as well but watch for adverse water conditions. The north coast streams should be a bit volatile this week with the weather systems that will continue to pound the coast this week.

Smaller streams will likely fish better than the larger ones like the Wilson or Nestucca. Steelhead are making themselves known as confirmed catches have come from the Wilson, Nestucca and Kilchis Rivers. Chum are in thick on the Kilchis and likely the Miami as well.

The Siletz is beginning to peter out but the Alsea had great action recently. The Umpqua is still producing some coho but that should slow and steelhead are right on their tails! The Elk and Sixes are off to a great start and should get much better.

Jack action on the Elk is good too. Rogue river anglers are taking a mix of steelhead and coho. Sandy and Clackamas Rivers are currently blown out, but winter steelhead are entering now.

New paid subscriber Gary T. writes, "The check for the subscription is on the way, you guys have finally gave me a meaningful reason to sit down and use the internet.
