STELLWAGEN BANK,MA- Cod Fishing 2/3/01
#1
Forty degrees temperature and light winds allowed B-Fast’s
DECISIVE to fish Stellwagen’s shaol-water on Thursday
and Friday. John Shwiner of Edison,NJ and his three
seasoned angling pals found non-stop jigging action in 80
to 100 ft. Doubles of “Market” cod were the rule from the
first drift to the last with a few pollock to 15#’s mixed in.
Capt. Scott headed the tired anglers on the 17 mile run
back to Green Harbor early with coolers full of filets.
John has been fishing Stellwagen for the past 8 years. He
proclaimed this year’s trip the best ever and scheduled
a return trip to fish again next week. James Whitten’s
group from the Bronx,NY was originally scheduled for
Sunday. Given the 10 kts or less, 1 to 3 ft seas forcast
for Friday, Jim hustled his group together late
Thursday night. Capt. Scott found the bait stacked-up
to fifteen feet above the bottom. As the doubles came
over the rails, herring and sand eels were in evidence on
the deck. Mostly 8-15 pound cod filets with a few
pollock filets filled the coolers bound for NY. We will be exhibiting at the Greater Boston Sportsmen's Show this weekend
February 9-11.

Capt. Mike Bartlett
B-Fast Charters
www.bfastcharters.com

Capt.
