fishing moss covered ponds

i fish a few ponds that are full of bass; i know there is some big ones in there because i have caught them before the moss over took the whole pond. i have never used a jig before and i have been looking into getting some. i was wondering if there was any that was recommended for this type of situation? if not what would you use?
