I've fished Powell but to be honest don't remember much. What is the price tag in Utah for a weeks worth of lisence.

For a nonres license it is $32 for a week, a 365 day $70, and a 365 day second pole permit is $15.

hell, if you are going driving, go fish the ocean! Newport is only 4.5 hours from here, and you can catch calicos, sand bass, halibut, sharks, and whatever else might be swimming around down there.
I'm taking a vacation on April 10th.
My wife and I are celebrating our five year wedding anniversary. Holy crap... Five years married, ten years together, a six year old kid and a six month old kid.
And I'm only 26.
BUT, we are going to Newport. Booked a room at the Newport Beachwalk Hotel, right on the beach, and im going to spend my time fishing, sitting on the beach, and soaking in the jacuzzi tub in our room... Im bringing my Ocean Kayak Malibu 2xl so the wife and i can surf-launch and fish the surf zone and beyond!

i used to go out on the half day boats just about every day out of Balboa, CA... Davey's Locker... god i miss it...
than i made the mistake of going offshore fishing which i became addicted to immediately

I took my first cattle boat out of Davey's Locker when i was 11.

]Ok people another question. Or more if a push in some direction. I'll be taking vacation the end of May beginning of June. Where's the hot fishing going to be? I was thinking of running up north into the eagle valley area but am still open. So I need to work on my game plan now. All suggestions welcom. Thanks
