GUNNISON, Colo. - The Colorado Division of Wildlife will hold a meeting to explain big game license recommendations for the Gunnison Basin game management units starting at 1 p.m., March 31, at the Gunnison division office, 300 W. New York Ave.
Deer and elk license numbers for the 2011 seasons for Game Management Units 66 and 67 will be discussed first. Discussion of deer and elk license numbers in units 54, 55 and 551 will follow. Brandon Diamond, Gunnison terrestrial biologist, and the local district wildlife managers will discuss current population objectives, current status of deer and elk herds, and license recommendations. The meeting is open to the public. Hunters are invited to ask questions and state concerns.
