Firewood policy changes for campers and picnickers
#1
To better protect your forests from harmful diseases and pests, the DNR has a new firewood policy. You can bring firewood into a state park, reservoir, state forest or state fish & wildlife area but only if it is:

"¢ kiln-dried scrap lumber
"¢ from your home, with the bark removed (provided your county has no emerald ash borer or other quarantine)
"¢ purchased from a store and bears a USDA compliance stamp
"¢ purchased from a local firewood vendor outside the DNR property and has a state compliance stamp
"¢ purchased from the property campstore or on-site firewood vendor and you have a copy of its state compliance agreement
Read more information about the firewood policy
or send us questions.
