Lure Sequence
#1
All things being equal, I start shallow at the beginning of the day and as the sun goes up I go deeper, then reverse the process in the evening until dark. During summer months I keep a topwater handy all day, just in case.

GDN443 is correct that it all "depends" on a bunch of variables, but be prepared for all the exceptions too. I had one of my best numbers and size days in southern UT., early October over two days and two lakes.
The weather had gone from 80's to 50's in a week. Water temps dropped just as fast, cold north wind, falling water levels and bluebird skies, rising barometer. My friend and I exchanged 4,5, and 6lbers from 10am til dark both days. There was no reason to it. Every book you read would tell you to stay home on those days.

Another example is a lake I fihsed in So. California. nothing early, mid morning to noon. We drop shotted every inch of that lake. Marking fish all over but they would not bite. Finally tried the opposite of finesse...a 10" worm on a 1/2oz sinker in 30 feet on 14lb line. The rest of the day was light's out!

Hope that helps
