Miami/Haulover Report - Sailfish, Dolphin & Shark
#1
Wind E @ 15-25, a large rain storm, seas 3-8 feet, hard blue/green edge in 200' off the sea buoy, and 145' off the anchorage. We started in 400' using live herring. When we reach 250' the action started with dolphin in the 4-6# class and kept us busy until we crossed the edge in 200'. Then we got drenched by an intense 20 minute rain storm. The sun finally came out and we dried out very quickly. Slow trolling herring on the edge in 145' off the anchorage produced a 7' sailfish that took us out to 450' before we landed and released it. While moving back toward the edge, a frigate bird put us on dolphin action. The school of dolphin had 2 sharks swimming with them and they beat the dolphin to the bait. A few boat side photos of the shark and it was released. We hooked a few more dolphin that threw our baits and like all fishing trips, it seemed to come to an end to soon.

Captain Dave Kostyo
Knot Nancy Fishing Charters
www.rnfl.com/knotnancy
nkostyo@bellsouth.net
