Family fishing event at Reinhart Pond
#1
ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife invites young anglers to join its free family fishing event on Saturday, May 7 at Reinhart Pond in Grants Pass. The event runs 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. with ODFW staff and Crater Bass volunteers on hand to help kids who want to learn how to fish.

The pond will be stocked with 300 rainbow trout prior to the event.
"This event is a great opportunity for kids to try fishing," said ODFW STEP biologist Chuck Fustish. "Parents can bring their kids out to learn or hone their angling skills. We'll have fishing equipment and bait for the kids."
Anglers 13 years of age and under can fish for free while those 14-17 need a juvenile angling license. All fishing regulations apply during this event.
Reinhart Pond is located at the city of Grants Pass's Reinhart Volunteer Park. For more information, contact Chuck Fustish at the ODFW Central Point office, 541-826-8774.
