Cooler nights and mornings are accounting for better fishing
as all species become and stay more active during the day.
Largemouth are good at first light on lake points using 7/16 oz. white Tungsten (www.terminatorlures.com), Berkley threadfin poppers, threadfin back Rat-L-Traps (www.rat-l-trap.com) and plastic swim baits are productive during the early morning bite, then try pitching a watermelon/char. Bush Pig* (www.cremelure.com) to standing timber and submerged laydowns along underwater points. Upriver, largemouth and Guadalupe Bass are coming on good pitching a junebug Craw Tube* (www.canyonlakefishing.com) to brush-piles and submerged timber in 10'-25' along points.
Smallmouth are good 8'-20' on 3" rootbeer/green Yamamoto
Curl Tail grubs, drop shot rigged pumpkin Devil's Tongue, Uncle Josh Drop Shot worms(www.unclejosh.com) and crawfish Super Tubes.
Stripers are improving tight-lining live perch in 30'-50' and trolling Hyper Striper jigs(www.kgenterprise.com) with trailers on downriggers along the dam. Birds just beggining to work shad on the surface when stripers and whites push baitfish shallow.
White Bass are fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows through schools in 40', casting Tiny Traps to surface activity or trolling #5 or #7 Shad Raps along the dam.
Crappie are fair at first light tight to standing timber or brush on minnows upriver.
