I am setting up 2 of my 6-7wt 8' rods with new sinking line IV and VI. One rod is a 3 pc the other a 2pc. Will it make a difference which rod gets which line. Any sujestions?

No. The pieces don't really change anything. Put the heavier line on the faster/stiffer
rod. You can cast a sinking line with just about anything. They are weighted the entire 90/100 feet, not just the tip like sink tips or split shot. Plus they are a smaller diameter line. Now, setting the hook is where a faster tip comes in. The faster the sink on the line, the more on the bottom and requires a little more to set the hook. Like fishing with a bobber or indicator, the line is straight out in front of you to the float, and straight down, so you have that angle that needs to first be straightened to have a good hook set...does that make sense? makes sense to me... you'd be going from a 90 to 45 degree angle...
