You work a jig like you would a crawdad. I've used them mostly in shallow water with a slight hop then let it sit, hop again. My buddy uses it in deep water as well. It's really a good spring bait, but you can use it all year round if the crawdads are out.

ok basically you do what he said, bounce it across the bottom and let it sit every few hops. no huge 3ft hops just a few inches off the bottom then let it sit

Both are good colors and should work well for you. Add a trailer to it sometimes to bulk it up, like a crawdad or just the front half of one.

Another thing you could try edge is change up your presentation until you find what they like. If you are fishing cooler water like I am in Wyoming slow is the key. Also I have done a lot of snorkeling, crawdads (the crab looking things) also called crayfish do not hop up off the bottom of the lake bed. They walk slowly and flitter off backwards when spooked. One of my most effective methods is a rod sweep. Cast let the bait get all the way to the bottom, reel in the slack line and sweep the rod back like you would a golf club on a back swing. Keep changing the speed of the sweep until you find what they like, put a twitch or hop in there... Jigs are for fishing deeper water mostly.
As far as appologising to that guy about not putting in your original post what kind of fish you are targeting (?) umm it is a Bass Fishing Forum! Hey I think I might have asked before, is your uncle adopting nephews? Giving you baits and things, I never got to know my uncles too well, you are a lucky guy edge... Have a good un LBD [signature]

I tied on my blue and black jig with a powerbait 2in grub trailer and caught 3 nice 1-3lb bass. So problem solved. i was more sight fishing and mainly sticking to structures that i knew

+1 on the rod sweep, I use that method at first no matter what I'm throwing. You can always change up speed after that, most bass will eat something that's naturally crawling along the bottom rather than hoppin' up and down, craws don't jump, lol.
I caught one of my biggest bass on a jig because I got tired of searching for shallow bass. It was lucky, I won't lie, I threw it out in the deep water, drug it back a couple times and BAM! Fish on! [signature]

There are a bunch of different ways to fish them. However, to be able to catch bass when the fishing is tough, you have to be very versatile.
