Utah Lake eyes
#1
Saw at least fifty walleye caught today at Lincoln beach. I caught a 22incher on my second cast. We caught walleye, white bass, mud and channel cats. All on jigs and chartreuse/black tails.

Most fish being caught in about four feet of water.

And hey,, the baby boat is great!!!! It had some nice walleye in it allready!

[#800000]NO NO NO. [#800000]I wanted to head down there. I had your secret colored jig[Wink] all tied up. And, I went to the sandy beach just south of Lindon boat harbor. We went out in our tubes about 3 miles off the bank, and it was still only a 1 1/2 feet of water. Didya lose many jigs? Oh, and didya paint the new boat baby-oh I mean sky blue yet?[/#800000][/#800000]

Sounds like a good day at Utah lake, how far were you from shore since you were only in 4ft. of water? It sounds like you were using the same jigs that we did last year, did you try using any bait or lures? WH2

Hey WH2, we were out there maybe 60 yards.

When we took the boat back to the warm spring to load up, there was a guy standing out on the end of the point casting one of those new Storm jerk shad things. I think it was the bluegill color. He had a 29" eye, and a smaller one.

We tried a crawler under a bobber for a while. Caught mud cats. The only channel cat I saw all day was one I caught on a jig. It was about three pounds.

Caught several big white bass. Some of the biggest Whites I've ever seen.

Its time to go do it again.

Hey Pescador, you can launch a 14' boat in quite a few spots. You might be best off using the boat ramp. Just stay light as possible and go slow.

There were boats launched in half a dozen different places Sunday.

Ididn't catch a walleye all day, but my friend Brad caught two 26" fish and a small one. Chuck called us over to fish a herd of big White Bass that were hitting as fast as you could throw a jig. We were even getting doubles.

More people fishing now than during the spawn. And taking way too many big fish.A few of us called the D.W.R. to go down there and keep an eye on all the Asians that are keeping everything they catch.

By the way, we released the two 26" fish.

Hey WH2, the bass are as big as the ones last year. Itook half a dozen home for dinner.

Yeah!!! White Bass! Want to get into some of those. How is lindon or American Fork? Any reports yet? Were you fishing from the shore or boat? If I go try my luck it would have to be from shore.

Hey Ocean, I have a muzzleloader Deer tag that needs to be used. So I'll be hunting this weekend. After that, we"ll fish the eyes until they hide. Probably about the 17th of October. Then they move off the flats and you have to hunt for them.

Where do you work thats only fifteen minutes from Lincoln beach? Shepherds?

Mornings and mid day are usually best, but sometimes a 4:00 till dark bite happens. Best time to fish is any time you can get out.

give it a try
