I just got back from Linclon Beach at Utah Lake after a full days fishing. It was very interesting launching the boat, but well worth the effort.
The fishing was steady most of the fish were in 4 ft of water all around the warmsprings area. Be advised that the area was packed with wall to wall shore fisherman by 6pm I counted over 75 most of them in the water wading.
I anchored up about 100 yds offshore and cast back to the shore. Most of the hits were on the fall. Black and Charteuse tail 4" grubs. Funny I think the whole fishing community has the word on walleyebobs "special" grub. As I look down the shore line everyone was casting black/charteuse. I will say that my big walleye came on a white grub with a charteuse jighead.
What was my best walleye day ever didn't make me feel too good. A group of 25 people were shore fishing in a line around the warm spring area. They were keep too many big fish. I am all for keeping a fish to eat ,but these are big females. You might as well float gill nets in the area. I kept one fish to eat, but I know what selective harvest means. I called the DWR,but no one came[mad]. Our fisheries are hurt bad enough with the drought and budget short falls. I am sure the DRW can take one hour and partol the area. They would have made big bucks in fines.
Here is a pic of one of the walleyes.
