Fishing Report for Galveston Bay 2-7-12
#1

[fishin]
Well it has been awhile since I last posted a report on this forum. I want to say HI to all the members on the bigfishtackle forum. I have been so busy because my fishing guide business just keeps growing and growing every year! I do plan on posting some fishing reports on here more often. I hope you enjoy them. Well as far as fishing in Galveston Bay Texas right now it has been hot or cold for us. One day we go out and catch them pretty good and the next day, we can't buy a bite! This is a typical pattern for us in during the winter time. It just seems to be a little more inconsistent this year. I am still taking out the kids and having some great days on the water catching seasonal schooling fish. On the days that we are on some speckled trout and red fish we are catching some nice size and quantity. I have been using live shrimp fished deep (4-5ft.) under a cork and soft plastics slowly fished on shell bottom for my best results. It seems like the deeper you fish, the better the bite. We have had a decent winter so far, but it hasn’t been one of the better ones. I’m really looking forward to spring fishing. This spring should be good for us as long as we can avoid those crazy windy days. Until next time, see you on the water.

Capt. Alan
