Have not heard about the edges, 20 plus inches of ice. Guess I will bring a plank just in case the edges are rough, then I will have to leave the wheeler on the trailer.

Last weekend the edges were fine. My buddy had his side by side up there with no problems.

I would like to go to Chesterfield but my ole trustee hand auger is no good for that thick of ice. I could do it but I would be tired after one hole. What motel/hotel did you book a room in? My wife works at the lava spa inn

Jeremy a hand auger is all i use and i just go and reopen up a whole that is already there. I've done ten wholes in less then 15 minutes.. Its fun and simple....

Every time I've tried to drill out an old hole it was more trouble than it was worth.

Never been there before but thinking about it this weekend unless the wife decides its open water and wants to put the boat in somewhere would this be the best way to get there

Kelly-Toponce Road is paved and is frequently better groomed than Nipper Road.
If you turn off Blaser/Hwy 30 onto Kelly-Toponce you can follow it up and then to the right around in front of the reservoir. From it turn left on to Basin/Nipper to get to the reservoir. Kelly-Toponce is paved while Nipper is gravel. Other than road surface differences they are both about the same distance. [signature]
