Southern California Saltwater

Report for October 9, 2003 (Thursday)

This weeks reports will be from 10/9-10/15

Way Up North- Avila and Monterey
Rough weather but a couple of boats got out with very few tuna caught and the usual rockfish.

Up North- Channel Islands
Rockfish, Whitefish, Whitefish and a bunch of yellowtail caught out of Port Hueneme.

LA Area- Catalina Island
Few boats making the trip with a lot of the 3/4 day boats doing the local rockfishing.

Further South- San Clemente
I suspect there are yellows being caught on the back side.

San Diego- Local and Offshore
Local fishing still centered on bonito, rockfish and yellows. Offshore is good with the usual species.

LA Local
Bottom fishing, barries and calicos north of Long Beach and up with boats on the other side on the South Coast and Oceanside getting into the yellows big, big time, bonito and Calico bass.
