As many of you probably have as well, I took advantage of having the day off yesterday and having nice weather to hit some of the local rivers. I started on the Henry's fork. I was nymphing with an egg pattern and small beadhead and didn't manage to get into too many: a couple rainbows and one sucker. Next I headed up to the Fall River and got into some good numbers, this time using a pheasant tail and another smaller beadhead off that. I probably landed 12 or so, along with a few whitefish. Being alone, I tried to take some pictures by stretching my hand out in front of me like flyfishingfool does, but I need some practice. I hope some of you guys are able to get out this weekend. Spring is near! Eagles were soaring all over and the deer were out and active as well. It was a good day after a long, slow winter with ice fishing.
(Sorry if these pictures aren't formatted correctly. I'm not too sure how to change that.)

Beautiful rainbow. Don't think I've ever seen one quite that speckled.

Beautiful fish!
How far up the Fall River were you? How are the roads?

Yeah, the colors were spectacular on that fish! Here's another picture of it. I need to get better with my picture taking when I'm fishing on my own.

The roads were fine. I could tell by the snow off the side of the roads that snow drifts pretty bad up there. I was fishing up towards where Highway 32 crosses over the river.

I'll say it again: that is one of the most unique-looking rainbows I've ever seen. It's the fine-freckled Fall River rainbow!
Thanks for sharing those details; it's very generous of you.
