Ever had a reel "speak" to you?

I was doing some family stuff down in Utah last week when I had the chance to stop in at Cabelas. I had time to inspect just about everything in the store (several hours) on my hands so I decided to check into buying a new reel to replace my 10 bearing president that I was discussing in the other thread. I tried literaly every spinning reel under $100 in the place.

Then my hands fell on this Wright & McGill Skeet Reese model 2500. It was so strange the reel spoke to me and said "I am the chosen one...fish with me." I tried to walk away from the choir of Sirens trying to make me buy this reel but alas I was too weak and gave in.

I just hope that I can feel the drop shots and senkos as well as I could in my dreams at the display counter.[]

By the way there were several other things jumped into my hands as well. My wife does not understand my "visions."

it's amazing isn't it.. So is it zebco or eagle claw?? I forget who the maker of them skeet reeses are.. I know there from a maker that you wouldn't expect. Let us know how it performs.. Ima stick to my pfluegers though.. Just curios how they do is all..

Its funny how some reels just feel right.. Will use 3 of the 5 bait casters i have, even if a better # test is on one of them for the situation, or are rigged up already, and its just because i like the way they feel... act...or whatever. I guess they speak to me.

I've had a reel speak to me too, turns out it just needed some grease... glad we got that figured out because the squeaking was annoying the heck out of me. [laugh]

My ebay bookmark tends to speak to me far too often. "Just sign in, see what deals people have right now". "You can just watch that rod, you don't have to buy it." It's trouble I tell you.

Oh how well I know - first it's come on just touch me , then it's you know you want to try me out , finally it's you know you want to take me home. No and we are NOT talking woman here. Because the last thing you hear is ah what does she know about it . So my new toy is to arrive sometime before July. All because of that seductive voice in my head. My GF is about fed up with the Fed -EX woman and I talking about the frequency of deliveries . I can't help it. It talks to me every night - what's a guy to do. [angelic]

brookieguy1 - I came out from the East Coast 2 yrs ago and learning a whole new ballgame - Salmon and Steelhead .
I like Quantum's too - purchased 2 Cabo Pts 's a 30 and 40 last year.
Also had to get rods to go with em LOL. Considering 1 Steelhead and skunked on the Salmon one **** EXPENSIVE fish. And I thought striper fishing was bad. That was 90 min away now it's 6 hrs or better.
