UL Bass Tourny this weekend.

I'm officially in. I'll be in as a co-angler on some dude's boat, but I will be attacking the reeds with nothing but my glass Fenwick and some butt-ugly cray fish patterns that I'm inventing even as we speak. I can't wait to show all these plastic-throwing wimps how it's done.

Well, I didn't win, but I think I made a good showing for us fur n' feather flingers. I caught a few white bass and had a few strikes, but couldn't seem to get into the LMB, but that was OK, because neither could the two "Pro's" on the boat -- until it happened. I was using a FlyGoddess Special, a perch/bluegill/giant fly with a stinger on it and dropped it into a hole that both of the other anglers had already cast into; BOOM.

Not a huge bass, but it was better than Mr. Skunk. I didn't get it into the boat, but he got right up to the boat and flashed us his big green/black stripe while flipping all three of us off.

That was the only LMB action of the day, ly. The crayfish patterns worked awesome on the whities though! (makes me wish that the whities were even a little bit picky, but I'm not complaining -- they actually looked pretty good in the water and had solid action)

I can't wait for the next tourny, as I have officially come down with Bass Fever. /slits wrists

I really would be remiss if I didn't give mad props to the two Pro's that let me go out with them this morning. Not only were they two of the funniest, dirtiest, gassiest, and irreverent guys I've met in a long while, they also knew their stuff. I think they make a cute couple and I hope their relationship lasts for a long time.

So, to Zechariah and Tater-Bug, may you always find yourself "Balls Deep" in hogs. (not snegs!)
