sturgeon fishing
#1
in the past week i have been out twice once to augar falls and today to hagerman at LSFC dam both days were 6 fish days and today i took a guy from work out who had never been out sturgeon fishing before. he had a blast. If i ever hooked a fish i handed the rod off and let him fight it in. he also hooked 3 on his own i think i created a monster because he was grilling me on what to buy and where

Wow six bites each day! I've spent the past two weekends fishing below CJ on the snake for 2 bites. One fish came off due to cheap swivels rated @ 100lb test and the other just came unbuttoned. Fished about 30 hrs for 2 bites and you get 6 in one day.

I really need to get with someone who knows what they're doing.

Sounds like i need to get down to auger. Im guessing the water is low enough to cross the bridge?

I fished there in Feb and March a couple times and got skunked both times. Good job! Ron

nice! i don't care who you are, two 6 fish days in a row is pretty awesome. Had two six days a couple months ago below Strike but seems to have slowed after that. A couple 2-3 fish days and one tonight out at Swan Falls. I definitely need to expand my horizons a little bit and get to know that Hagerman/Glenns Ferry area. Thanks for the report!

I grew up in Glenns Ferry (the two story house up the hill from the old swimming pool)
My Grandpa showed me what Sturgeon was all about. I sure miss that, love to see some pictures guys.

I'm planning to take a veteran sturgeon fishing Friday (wounded warrior) and I'll get some pics posted after we get back. Wish us luck, this is an awesome guy who was wounded in action and is in Idaho this week on a spring bear hunt. Hopefully he'll have his bear by Thursday so he can get a chance to enjoy the Snake River on Friday. In the mean time, here's a couple pics from fish caught this year since Jan 1.
(would love to see pics of some of those fish caught in the Twin/Auger area too) [fishon]

That's pretty rad you're taking a wounded warrior. Kudos to ya for doing that.

That being said, I think you have a pretty stellar track record for taking out newbies, but good luck anyways hahaha

Make sure to send me a pic on your way back while I'm at work... haha
