lots of 11-17 pound rainbows!
#1
Just got this report from Kootenay Lake. Check out the picture I attached at bottom. This guide had lots of pics of similar rainbows. When they refer to shakers up there, they are talking about 4-6 pounders!! Mike

The report and pic:

Spring fishing on Kootenay Lake is on. Most days out getting rainbows over
10 lbs. All chromers coming in as the spawners are up at Gerrard now. Will
be going up there hopefully on the weekend to see the spawning fish, and get
an idea on the counts.
Last week we were getting nice fish most days. Fish in the 12 - 15lb range.
On wednesday we never landed one over 10lbs. Then on Thursday everything
came together and we had a busy day. We landed 5 rainbows in the 11 - 17lb
range. Gorgeous chromers. Great fight. Also threw in an 8lb dolly and 4
shakers. The 219, 221, and 215 were hot that day. Typical spring colors.
Flies with green in them are working well as the water turns green from the
runoff.[Image: ?ui=2&ik=6b17e59024&view=att&...thd&zw]

Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to target those gerrard bows for a while now. I think we're going to try to book a charter this fall but thanks again[Smile]

There are two really good charters....Kootenay Kingfisher and Reel Adventures, and both regularly post fishing reports with pictures and sometimes videos. Mike
