Pauly's snake..my cheap artificial snake. This is your easy ticket to salvation, how to catch that Lunker that always gets away..

For once in your life ..Just do what I say!.You saw my frog thats great, but This is it...Easiest way here to hook that Lunker bass you always desired..Bass love frogs and snakes, possibly their favorite, nothing like a good meal for a bass, they can't resist it..

Paul, thanks for the tip and the instructional video!! I can think of all kinds of possibilities using your technique!! Just be careful to not burn your fingers! [Wink]

I do have one question... the video shows you winding up with something less than an 18" 'snake'. And yet you used a relatively small hook... one sized as it you were fishing with just one of the worms.

I realize that it's not uncommon for a bass to hit the "head" of their prey (or our lures), but have you noticed any "short-strikers"?

Have you had bass hit only the tail or the middle?

Because of the length of the worm/small hook, are you letting the bass "hold" the worm a little bit longer to ensure that it has it ALL (or at least the head/hook end) in his mouth?

Thanks!

Paul,

What FLOATING worms do you use? MOST worms have salt in them to make them SINK. What worms are you using that float?

Thanks,

Thanks Bob..Your the man!

Here I catch a nice two pounder..at [#0000ff]3:30[/#0000ff] then next cast I miss a small one..maybe he hit the taiol or middle,or just spit it?Remeber if your fishing for fun pinch your barb..Sometimes I react by striking too soon but usually give them 2 to 5 seconds ..Its the reason why I pinch the barb ..Just incase they swallow it...I wont tear their stomach..I love bass and this way I haven't killed any by accident....

Size 1 eagle claw barbless, yes I use a small hook with no barb on that snake.I bite off the ends so maybe 17" now. With the small hook my Pauly's snake floats better and looks more natural..You can add more to the head to keep it floating if you wish, maybe 2 more pieces 1 or 2" long on either side of the head,Paulpro! Paul, what BRAND of (floating) worm are you using? (I can hardly wait to try this!! [Image: happy.gif]) but I don't think any of my worms float with or without a hook. I need to know of some floating worms.

Elaztech plastics (like Z-Man) float, but even their "Zinkerz" worms sink (I think they add a bunch of salt). If you can share, it would be appreciated.

Hey Bob how is it,I was finally able to get out to one of my fav fishing holes.[Smile] Did you get a chance to fish the snake..
Check it out,I melted 4 floating worms together, came out to 21" haha! Just went out last weekend and caught 415 4 guys from boat,we even got a Quad hook up,and the snake caught them one after the other! Must of got a dozen bass in this video clip from the end of this canal in Big Cypress Preserve, the Bass were biting every cast! enjoy! I ended up with 116,the Captain got 130!
I caught most on the topwater Rebel minnow lure
