CJ Strike bass report 6/15 and blue gill pict
#1
we headed out to CJ about 4:30 to go for some bass. it was pretty slow a lot of fish started picking up but they were they 8 to 10 inch range. we caught 3 to 4 over 12 with one nice 16 incher. i had one pole out to test the water for crappy. when my buddy hooked that 16 incher we drifted in the stupid wind and got to close to the shore and droped my pole in the water. third time this year i lost a pole to the water the other two was beer related but any who. i had a nible and caught the biggest bluegill sunfish ever. very thick i should have checked the state record. it weighed 1 lb 9 oz. probably not a record but still huge with a larger than life fight to keep out the boat. i released him to fight another day. I will probably try for crappy and perch tomorrow.

Beautiful bluegill! (The state record is 3#, 8 oz., caught out of C.J.) hard to even imagine a bluegill that size. Mike

We fished on the 15th also. Went out about 10 and stayed until 3. It was hard to stay on the water - wind was really whipping. We caught 2 very small bass and spent some time practicing boating in white caps.

Nice blue gill.

That is an awesome bluegill! I have one in my freezer that came 2oz from the state record. I caught it 15 years ago in Condie. I thought I would get it mounted and then just didn't have the money. Now I will just get a plastic replica. I pull it out every once in a while to show people the good old days before it was drained.[laugh]

About that same time Indian Creek was loaded with 3# Gills before it dried up. What a hoot on the fly pole with a foam spider. Sure miss them days.

Thanks for the report fish-o-holic. I too have lost a few poles but in my case always beer related. [Smile]
