Anyone head up to the south fork over the weekend? I am going this up coming friday. I will have a report as soon as I return.
Is anyone else having a tough year getting into the salmon. I have fished rigging 3 times and only touched a couple of fish. There were not many other fish caught around me also. I starting to think that I am bad luck or something.

They have the SF harvest report setup on a day to day basis thru the 27th. It will be great if they actually report the catch day to day. Theres fish in the SF now so I would expect they are catching some.

Does anyone know what the quota is for salmon tag purchasers on the SF this year? It seems to close for regular folks right as the main group of fish are coming in.

We killed 3 SF fishies last week at Shortsbar so they are entering the SF by now.

Can't say for I am not able to differentiate those from Rapid river fish. But I know my SF fish for they have a distinct olive brown back that make them easy to identify.

Those light green fish really stand out from the sliver/brown other salmon

Was slow saturday morning so we headed up the road to riggins and whacked em really good. Heres a hint when the little becomes low and clear late in the season drift fishing yarn or corkies and the like really doesn't produce well. Floats and eggs really put the smack down on 'em when other guys hadn't touched a fish in days......... just my two cents.

Was up there monday but had @#$% car touble so ended up only fishing a couple hours. Never saw a fish hooked, but did see a few fish trying to get under Buck Lakes trailhead bridge. A herd of drunk guys were standing up there dropping their baits on the head of the poor fish whenever they came close in that shallow, gin-clear water. To the drunk guys' credit, I never saw anyone trying to snag one, but those poor fish sure were spooky by the time they ran that gauntlet.
I'm headed up tomorrow for another shot. Hopefully there will be more fish in the system.
