STELLWAGEN BANK,MA- Cod Fishing 1/27/02<br><br>Luca Gambardella and friends from Bronx,NY, fished the shoal-water on the bank on Wednesday 1/23. The cod and pollock were cooperative early in the tide, jumping on the jigs and treasers in 80 to 100 ft of water on top of the bank. The group did well with medium cod with a few large up to 18 pounds. By noon, the SW wind came up much stronger than the forecast., ending the successful morning bite.<br><br>Saturday’s split-charter was a blow-out as once again the SW winds were stronger than forecast. Sunday’s light winds, 50 degree temps and calm seas enabled Paul Greenberg’s group from New York,NY to fish the shoals on the Decisive. The fishing was good until the late morning tide change. More scrod and more throw-backs made up the catch than the past few trips.
