We learned this morning that the Upper Salmon River chinook fishing season will end no later than August 10th, as per IDFG's agreement with NOAA Fisheries. However, depending on how the harvest evolves, the season could end earlier than August 10. So, that's a maximum of two weeks left in the 2012 season in Sections 18 and 19 from near Ellis to near the Sawtooth Hatchery. The end date for Tribal fishing is part of a separate agreement between the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and NOAA Fisheries.
We will be leaving for Salmon Country today and return August 5th. Our schedule's on the website. Hopefully, we will get to meet some BFT members along the river.
Happy Fishing! jp
