The Threadfins were certainly out and about. I didn't see them but those Smallies and Stripers certainly do. Every SMB we caught was spitting out 2 1/2 - 3 inch Threadfins left and right. Boils all morning long. We were still killing the Smallies and Stripers on Topwaters as late as noon. Then it slowed down. SMB certainly eat well. Everyone we caught was a fatty. I only caught one LMB on the Topwater plug I was casting.

That's great man, it's all about the Sammy!
Fishing out of Callville Sunday was not quite so hot. Quality sized bass were hard to find.
Check out the Ghost Threadfin Shad color. Love it!

That ghost is really close to the one Madi was tossing. Might have to snag one up for myself. The one she was tossing is the pearl threadfin. Maybe I just need to buy the same one she was tossing and see if it is the bait or the user. lol Child kills me. I was actually thinking to myself everytime I heard her say "got another" or "wooho" after the 15th or so fish to my couple - whatever or so or ya what about it. lol

Loved your report and the video too! Madison reminds me of myself when I was a little girl! Way to go Madison!
I've been too busy to report....but couldn't stand it and had to join in. We went out on 9/14 and again on 9/16, out of Boulder Harbor. Fished a cove before you get to 33 hole. We've been doing real good with Kastmaster 3/8 oz. Smallies, LMB and Stripers, all on the Kastmasters. I've been using the solid shiny gold and Phil has been using the solid silver. Boils have been far and few between, catching most near shore. The boils that we have caught some striper in, we actually got some smallies in too. Casting a boil and coming up with a smallie was a surprise, as Phil was pulling out stripers from the same boil. Short lived boils, but still fun.
I saw the post earlier about the crawfish. The last 4 LMB's we've caught all had red crawfish in their bellies. I found out they are actually "Red Louisiana Crawfish" that were introduced as an experiment in the 1980's. Looks like they are thriving!
On 9/14 we brought home 10 stripers and 7 of a mix of smallies and lmb. On 9/16 we brought home 10. Had a great fish fry with the neighbors....and still had some to put in the freezer. It's been pretty good....going back again Friday!

The last 3+ trips up north has been the same for Madison (not me). Pulling Smallies out of Striper boils. Not sure who is greedier. A Smallie or a Striper. Smallies certainly are not afraid to get into the mix and get their share of Threadfins when the Stripers get them spooled up and moving around that is for sure.
For the longest time I figured a Striper to be the most greedy/mean critter around till I started catching Smallies and see how they act. They are afraid of nothing! Bite your fingers, attack your leg/feet, stare at you when they are on the bed and not move, attack your bait with a vengeance when you disturb/get near their bed, etc, etc. I really love catching them. I just wish our Smallies grew a little faster and bigger. I would love to be able to catch a 5++ pound Smallie every now and then like they do up in mid north areas of the US verse 1.5 - 3 pounders.

I agree about the smallies.....they can be fierce!
Hey, I think my husband and I met you and your daughter last year at Boulder Harbor. We were coming in at the same time, the wind was terrible. You two had been fishing over by the dam. Not sure if it was you two, but I think so.
We also have a Tracker Deep V Pro Guide.

Even though I know BPS has sold a bunch of the blue 175-WT's I don't recall seeing one on the water since we got ours back in Sept 2011.
We were launching out of Boulder back in late November through Feb or so chasing the Stripers so maybe...
Once the bass fishing slows down and the water gets cold we will start launching out of Boulder again to chase the Stripers for something to do on Saturdays. Until then we will be up north avoiding the crowds and enjoying it... Next trip, this upcoming Saturday again!

Our tracker isn't blue....it's all silver, and it's not as big as yours. Ours is a Deep V Pro Guide 16.5 Ft, console on the right side. We pull it with our Silver Izuzu Rodeo.
Oh well, just pretty sure we met you the day it was blowing like crazy and pretty chilly too! The daughter, whoever she was, was having trouble holding the boat at the ramp, I remember that. We were all having trouble! <G>
Have a good trip Sat.....we are looking forward to Friday!

Ah, maybe so then. She has gotten much better at wrestling that thing around this year! She helps as much as she can.
I miss being able to go on Fridays when I have them off but now that school is back Fridays are semi out of the question. I have slipped out there w/o her a few times but always get the "your going to what w/o me" out of her... lol Then I have to go again on Saturday or Sunday so she can go.
