Fish ID - Rock Bass or Roanoke Bass?
#1
This one is a tough one for me to ID. I caught the fish out of the Nottaway River in Virginia where both species exist. The Nottaway is one of the few rivers that contain Roanoke Bass and is part of the Chowan drainage. I was shocked at how big it was....at least ten inches long. Biggest sunfish I have ever caught. Two pictures are provided with different lighting. Rock Bass or Roanoke Bass?

I have never seen either type of fish, so I can't help, but I would like to welcome henn9438 to the BFT. Thanks for joining us and helping. I hope you take some time and look around the sight and in particular get involved in your states forum. I know I appreciate all of my friends out here on the I daho forum. Welcome again!

Sorry I can't help with the ID, but was wondering if you posted on your states forum. Maybe someone can help there. Thanks for posting the pictures though cause now I can see if I can google up and answer.
