I spent a few days in Bozeman Montana (11/1-11/4). Stayed at a lodge called Trout Chasers. I fished the Gallatin River 2 days and had a great time. It was my first trip to Montana and I cannot wait to go back. Allegiant flies to Bozeman and a few other Montana cities so you can get cheap flights. My first day out I caught 8 rainbows and 1 brown. I fly fished with an egg imitation and a purple prince nymph below that. Did not fish with a guide. Probably would have caught many more fish if I did. I am friends with the sister of the lodge owner so we stayed there for free. They gave me some advice before heading out on the river. Trout were nice sized and good fighters. Second day I went with my friend and caught 1 rainbow and 1 white fish. My friend caught 3 white fish. Great trip over all. Going back as soon as possible.

Beautiful. Sure beats those urban stockers here in town huh haha pine river fishing is my favorite kind man, makes me miss home. If you ever head back up that way and want an excellent place to fish less than 5 miles off the freeway, hit the Provo River in Provo, Utah--I could live on that river

Very nice. Thank you for reporting. When I think trout, I think Utah. BUT I've never been to Montana. Haha. I watched "A river Runs Through It" probably 50 times as a kid.

Thats awesome, glad you had fun!
I've fished Rock Creek for about a week straight, it was a ton of fun. Lost my pics somewhere, but a ton of good sized rainbows, cutts, and browns and a few brook. I'd say my decent sized ones were running about 18+" on average.
Had so much fun I barely made it to the wedding!!!
