Does anyone know the Delaware River?

[]I just got back from a trip to my daughters new place in PA. I drove down past the Delaware River, which is running very high due to all the heavy rain we have had. I have heard that there is a very good Shad run on this river in the spring months.Could anyone help with more info. on this topic and what type of boat and motor set up is needed to work this estuary and is there a stiper run there also.

I have herd of the striper runs when the waters turn brakish from the high tieds but not the shad.

I have never fished there my self, just watch a lot of fishing documentaries.

Thanks for the info. I think now that my Daughter is living close to the delaware river I will be spending more time on it. Where in the port Jervis area can one put in a canoe or small boat?
