ITs always fun when you have to start running after a fish on foot cuz hes about to spool you. It was close he took me into my last 10 yards of line. I had to run down the rocks after him. I wanna do it again!

Now, about the whitefish, is anyone catching them yet? If so where? Last year the whitefish were a bust for me cause I didn't find them where I had in years past. I sure hope I can find them this year.

Got an update from him today that lake levels are back down about 6' from their obscene high levels last year. The whities are also showing up in the "usual" places. Not red hot yet but showing up. He figures that by the end of next week it should be good for all.[/#0000ff]

I missed several didn't have small enough jigs but i could see schools of them moving along the rocks i am headed up there tomorrow to bring back a limit for the smoker i will report how i do when i return.

That sounds like fun. Good luck. Have you ever tried them with a fly rod and sinking line? I've been wondering if I could figure out a fly that would work. I'll bet they would really be fun on a 5WT. Later J

We gotta get together Ralph for some whitefish whacking. I fished today (Friday) and I caught 6 but not a limit and I had to work for them. It will get better next week and by next weekend it should be red hot. Weather was less than ideal today (breezy) and tough to fish small jigs with a "finesse" bite like whitefish.
