hi i have my mom and dad coming in for a few days at Christmas, and would like to take them out on the hard top one day we live in slc they are from OK. so i was thinking strawberry or rockport, not to far, never fished deercreek or jordanelle on ice all info would help, and if possible i have a 6 x12 tent but may have more family that wants to go does anyone have a spare tent i could rent for the day. i may need some rods also but i think i can get them
i guess it all depends on the weather and what ice if any is good..we will be trying the hard top around the 27th

I think your best bet right now is Huntington. That seems to have the safest ice. A frined of mine was up there yesterday and the tigers were very active.

There a lot of people waiting on fishable ice. Just the reports on the lakes you mentioned hasnt been great so far. Scofield can get a cap pretty fast if the cold weather stays. The high winds havent helped either. Unusal weather year we are having.
