My Dec 21st
#1
I hit the Jordan River on a daily basis as it is very close.
There is a nice little bend that is great fishing as it creates a nice pool.
However, one of the pools I pass had a nice edge of ice. I have been watching the area and see bubbles all the time, so today I notices an open area. Not a lot of hope, but tossed out a fly I received in a fly swap. I had it under an indy suspended about two feet deep.
First cast to the edge of the ice. It landed and settled down then a swirl just below it, so I slowly pulled the line.
Indy went down and set the hook. It went under the ice so I played it slow. Not sure what I had.
Ended up being a LMB

I cast out again and waited maybe 5 minutes and again, it went down.

Stayed there for maybe 20 minutes then came home but it was a surprisingly busy morning.
Nothing of great size but fun.

Your experience was just what I needed to read this cold winter day! Thank you so much!

Winter makes me ache for some good fishing... Love the pictures and the fact that you got some tugs today![Smile]

Fun pictures......made my day. I am impressed that the LMB are still so active that you are catching them as things ice up. Or maybe it is that your flies are too enticing to resist! Way to go.

Well thank goodness the world didnt end today and you were able to get a bass to play with you. Surprising have only managed a couple when there was ice on the surface. Looks like more fun than last minute Christmas shopping.
