I headed up to Tibble fork today to check out the ice conditions. When I arrived the ice didn't look to promising. There is open water by the dam and on the south east corner. I walked down and punched a few holes. The ice was 1-2" thick depending on the area. It was thinner out in the middle where I was fishing. I fished in 11 feet of water and used a small jig tipped with pieces of night crawlers. I caught a lot of smaller rainbows ranging from 8-12 inches in length. It would have been nice to catch a few bigger ones though. There was no other sign of ice fishing that I could see in the area I fished. If you want to catch tons of smaller rainbows Tibble fork would be a good place to go just use caution until the ice gets thicker.

At 8 feet deep on a Sunny day in the tent you can see every Fish take your Jig up there. So fun.

Thanks for sharing. Almost went up there to check things out today after a report from a workmate last week.
The bubbles under the ice in your pics are way to close to the top for my personal taste and comfort. Looks mighty iffy so be careful out there.

You were fishing on 1" of ice in 11' of water all by yourself? No thanks. Curious why you have your fish finder set to show fish symbols?

I have wasted thousands of dollars on "help" and the only thing that helps now is AA. All the therapist cared about was taking advantage of me when I needed help the most. One [#0000BF]deleted[/#0000BF] tried charging my insurance company over ten thousand dollars for 2 months of therapy and also charged me up to 500 dollars a session that I didn't even attend!

No I don't; especially, because of your attitude. If you choose to handicap yourself by showing the fish symbols, while ice fishing, have at it.

Dang, didn't mean to stir up a bunch of *&%$, Guess I shouldn't have said anything with regards to the ice thickness, but I assure you my concern was sincere.
We have some good folks on this forum, and it would be a shame to loose anyone. This is the only reason I brought it up, and it of course was just my opinion.
In MY opinion "No fish is worth the risk of falling through the ice" and the ice condition on that lake by the pics look to be marginal at best. I feel, the odds of getting back onto a slab of ice that thin once going through would be slim and not worth the risk.

I've seen them under 3 feet of ice. The bubbles aren't the problem.
