Took my first trip to Strawberry yesterday with a few friends. Weather was great, a little cold in the morning no wind, with sun all day.
We were at the first bay or turnout as you come out of Heber (Sorry I dont know the name). There was 6-8 inches of snow and the ice was an average 0f 8 inches. There was a packed down trail that made walking a little easier. Snowmobiles were running all over the lake.
We had to work and moved 4 times but I ended up with 4, lost 2 more at the hole. One I lost at the hole might have been out of the slot, it was big. Once I had the head out, my line broke. I missed about 5 other good bites/fish. My buddies ended with 4 between the 3 of them.
White seemed to be the color plastic they liked and crawlers got the most bites. Almost all fish were caught in 25-35 feet of water. Bites were soft and they were not that aggressive. All fish were in the slot and they were all cuts. The biggest went 20 inches.
Good 1st trip for me and I cant wait to get back to explore other parts of the lake.
Good Luck
